Safety Rules
for all Residents and Guests
Summer is a time for vacations, family fun,
rest and relaxation. At Michago Beach we strive to make your time here a
pleasant and memorable event. In order to achieve this goal, we have listed
some simple rules to guide your activities and hopefully provide for your
safety.
THE ASSOCIATION BEACH
The Association beach is for the enjoyment of
residents and their guests. Please be mindful of the following rules when using
the beach:
1. The Association beach has no lifeguards. Please observe all
water safety rules.
2. The beach areas north and south of the association beach are
private property.
3. Camping trailers or tents are not allowed.
4. Bonfires are only permitted in the Association beach fire rings.
5. Practice the "Scout rule" and completely
extinguish bonfires with water and/or sand.
6. All bonfires, beach parties, etc. are to end by midnight.
OFF ROAD VEHICLES (ORV’s) & PERSONAL
WATERCRAFT
1. The use of ORVs in Michago is restricted to access from your
cottage to the association beach and occasional visits to friends and family in
other cottages.
2. Joyriding on Michago roads is always prohibited for safety
reasons.
3. ORV’s are noisy! Please be considerate especially after 9pm!
4. All State of Michigan laws regarding the use of personal
watercraft must be followed.
5. Observe a 200 foot no wake zone out from the beach and in all
areas with swimmers.
SPEED
LIMIT
1. The speed limit on all Michago roads is 15 MPH.
2. We have many walkers in Michago so please slow down and watch
for pedestrians!
DUNES AND BLUFF
In order to prevent erosion,
please don’t climb on the dunes or bluffs.
PETS
Pets must always be on
a leash and please clean up after your dog.
FIRE
PREVENTION
1. Each cottage should have 100 feet of garden hose attached to an
outside spigot.
2. Practice the "Scout rule" and completely
extinguish bonfires with water and/or sand.
3. All State of Michigan Fireworks laws must be observed.
4. Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are strongly recommended.
